What A Man Says
When the Lord calls you to do a work for Him and you step out in faith to do it, you will see miracles happen of which you could have never dreamed. Recently, my wife and I were blessed to be able to lead a six person team on a twelve day mission trip to Uganda. While on the trip, we saw some amazing things happen and God moved in awesome ways.
One of the most amazing things was how the trip was able to move forward at all. Based on travel restrictions and the current situation in Uganda, there should have been no way that we could have gained permission to even enter the country. God had other plans though! God made a way for us to not only enter Uganda, but our events were the only ones to be approved by the government of Uganda throughout the nation for the past fifteen months! What an amazing testimony!
What I want you to know from this experience is this: no matter what the circumstances may look like or how impossible it may seem, do not stop moving forward in the Lord. Each of us will have situations in our lives that are difficult and on the surface seem completely impossible. Maybe it is a loved one who we have been praying for, maybe it is a medical situation, or possibly a relationship issue. No matter what it is, when God gives you direction to move forward, do it! Do not grow weary in doing what the Lord has called you to do and do not lose faith that He will come through when He is needed. When God opens a door, nothing in all of creation can shut it; when God closes a door, nothing in all of creation can open it.
These sound like great and encouraging words, but the real question you may be asking is, “How can we actually do this?” When we are facing those impossible situations and the discouragement and emotion comes to us, what can we do to keep moving forward? There are two scriptures that the Lord has brought to my mind to help with this. First, think on the things of the Lord. Philippians 4:8 says, “Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.” Secondly, practice Revelation 12:11: “They triumphed over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” When we focus our eyes on Christ and tell others about what He has done in our life, we will see victory!
