What A Man Says
There are many people who are very drawn by the study of the end times. In fact, end times prophecy and research is probably one of the most popular topics among Christians. Over the past year, my wife and I have become more and more intrigued with the end times and have found ourselves watching and reading a lot of content which discusses this topic. Often times, when people read and study this topic, they are doing it with the perspective that these events will happen in the distant future. However, I believe many Christians would agree that some of the events that we read are going to happen in the end times look less like things that are going to happen in the future and more like things that are happening right now.
One thing is for certain, tomorrow will always eventually turn into today. Just recently, we returned from a mission trip to Uganda, and just as with all the mission trips we have taken before, it is now over. We anticipated the trip for so long and the trip itself was extremely eventful, and yet the time came when we arrived back at our home and it was over. It is now in the past. Just like that, the end of this world is going to one day come, and the time we had on this earth is going to be over. The real thing that we must know is not when the end will come, but what is going to happen to us when it does. Where are we going to spend the remainder of eternity?
While there is a lot of mystery about when and how the world will come to an end, the Bible could not be more clear about what is going to happen in eternity. Jesus is crowned King of kings and Lord of lords and has complete and total victory, and those who believe in Him will be with Him for all eternity. However, those who rejected Him will be separated from Him for all eternity. It is my own personal belief that the true suffering of those who are in hell will not come from physical pain or torture or anything of the like. It will come from having a full understanding of who Christ is, knowing in their hearts that they rejected Him and no longer have any hope for redemption. My closing thought for you today is this: don’t worry so much about when or how the end is going to come, but instead make sure you are ready to meet it when it does. The only way to be ready for the end is to truly know Jesus Christ.
