What A Man Says
I was recently talking with a friend about all the craziness going on in the world. Talk of the riots, racial tension and a new vaccine that some claim may be the mark of the beast. As we spoke of different conspiracies or lack thereof, my friend said, “Do you think the Lord is coming back?” To which I replied, “what would you do differently?”
That simple question has become somewhat of a marker in my mind. To be honest, I do not know that I would do anything different and I am trying to figure out if that is a good thing or not. I view all these tense scenarios, including with the Lord’s return, through this new lens.
If there was a communist takeover through our politicians, I would still go to work. If the stores dried up of food, would I welcome in the stranger or tell them to keep walking, with my hand on my gun? and if Jesus was coming back soon, I would still keep track of my receipts for taxes.
So many of us think that we should make drastic changes but I say, if you have to change because of such and such, shouldn’t you change anyway then. If we cannot bow before our Lord with a clean heart, we are in trouble.
Right before Jesus pulled His little ‘conquering-death-and-redeeming-all-mankind’ stunt, He spoke encouragingly to His disciples. He told them of the troubles and woes to come, but said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” (John 14:27, KJV) He knew that the world would always, and one day in finality, be falling apart and so He gave us the Wonderful Encourager, the Holy Spirit to get us through.
If you are living in anxiety, take time to pray and I mean really pray. Push everything aside, shut off the phone, leave the paper work and pray. Pray for wisdom, for direction, for discernment. Our Father is a good Father and will give you ‘good gifts’. He will show you what road to walk and ease your troubled mind. Besides, even Communist invaded country needs to have a healthy remnant ready to be Christ ambassadors.
P.S. This is my last article I will be writing for The Fruitful Women. I have been blessed to write for five years or so. I have always enjoyed writing because it forced me to break from the business of my life and focus on the Lord. I pray that you guys have been just as blessed reading as I have been writing. Thank you for all your support over the years.
