What A Man Says
Living for the Lord is exciting and rewarding. There is no doubt that when we come to a place of surrender and allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us, He will take us to places that surpass anything we could have imagined. It is the opposite of living a boring life. Yet at the same time, there is an enemy who wants to stop us from fulfilling the plan that God has for us. One of the primary tools he uses to stop us from pursing God’s plan is discouragement. He is a master at doing things to attempt to discourage us and his desire is to take us to place where we throw our hands up in the air and say that we can’t do this anymore.
In the book of Ezra we see something amazing happening. The Jews had been overthrown and the temple had been destroyed. And yet, God made a way for some of them to return to Jerusalem and work to rebuild the temple. This was an amazing story and it would have been an experience that would have surpassed anything that the Jews could have thought of. Yet, as they were beginning this work they were met with resistance. The governor of the local area questioned them about what they were doing. However, nothing can stop the plans and the purposes of the Lord. The king of the empire wrote a letter to the governor declaring his support of the Jews and instructing the governor to give them anything that was required.
God not only calls us to fulfill a special plan and purpose but He will also supply every need that we have in order for it to be accomplished. I believe that there may be many who are reading this today who have been called in special and amazing ways and yet, you may be encountering discouragement. If that is you then be encouraged, because the Lord is speaking to you right now. He has inspired me to write this knowing that you would read it today and that you would be reminded that He is real, He is alive, and He will never leave you nor forsake you. He is telling you to keep moving forward in your calling. Do not to give in to the tactics of the enemy to bring discouragement into your mind. Keep your focus upon Christ and never let go of the promises that He has given to you. Remember, all authority on heaven and earth belongs to Jesus and if He is for you, who can be against you? Nothing!
