What A Man Says
Sin fills our lives with negative consequences. What are those consequences? The exact opposite of the fruit of the Spirit. So instead of experiencing the Fruit of the Spirit, you will experience the fruits of the flesh which look like this…. instead of love you will have hate, instead of joy you will have misery, instead of peace you will have conflict, instead of patience you will have impatience, instead of kindness you will have meanness, instead of goodness you will have wickedness, instead of faithfulness you will have treachery, instead of gentleness you will have brutality, instead of self-control you will have chaos.
If you desire a life filled with the fruits of the flesh then it is very simple, reject Christ and His commands and embrace sin. The reality is, those words describe the state of this world. All you have to do is look around at society and in every area which is devoid of Christ you will see those words exemplified.
How do individuals and society as a whole arrive at this place? It does not happen overnight. People who are following Christ don’t wake up one day and simply say “welp I think I’m tired of all this love, joy, and peace in my life…. I think I’m gonna go out and get me some hate, misery, and conflict!!” That doesn't happen. What does happen is that Christians begin to tolerate what they consider to be small acts of sin in their lives and inevitably over time that sin grows and grows until it has consumed them.
Let me also preface that with this, I am not talking about the circumstances that a person is living in, this is not a prosperity gospel teaching in any way, what I am talking about is the condition of an individual's heart. When a person is living for Christ, they will experience the fruit of the Spirit regardless of the circumstances that they are living in in this world, and when a person is living for themselves or anything other than Christ they will experience the fruits of the flesh regardless of the circumstances they are living in in this world.
The time has come and you are reading this today because the Lord is seeking for you to review your life and come in repentance to Him for those areas of sin that you have allowed to continue in your life. When we come to Him and confess and repent of the sin in our lives He is faithful to forgive us. Are you ready to seek Him today and allow Him to change your heart?
