What A Man Says
Have you ever noticed how you may try to conquer an endeavor but seem to always come up short? For example, I have tried and tried to stare at the magic eye posters, the ones that they sell in the little kiosks in the middle of the mall. No matter how hard I tried to see the picture, I could not. I tried all the tricks such as crossing my eyes, sticking my nose on it and walking backwards and so forth but never seemed to get it. Until I relaxed and did not stress about it, that is when I finally saw the hidden picture.
The truths of God are similar to this. It says in 1 Corinthians 2:7 (KJV) that “But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:” And a little further in the chapter it says that “But God hath revealed them [mysteries] unto us by His Spirit, for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God” (v.10, KJV)
A parallel view of this can be seen when working on drug rehabilitation. People have a heart to become clean, and see the clear picture, but they never seem to be able to. They go to groups, or counseling and everyone gives them different things, or steps, they need to do. They notice how other people have been set free but yet never acquire freedom for themselves. They end up giving up on themselves and either say “I will never see freedom” or that it isn't even there. They fail because they are just trying to follow a law, but just trying to follow laws can leave us frustrated. Romans 8:3 (KJV) says “For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through flesh, God sent His own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh”.
How often have you tried to obtain, yet fall short? What is your hidden picture that you long to see? There is not a problem with the picture itself, it is with our sight and perception. Paul says a prayer for his people where he states “That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of Glory, may give unto you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him; The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling and what the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.’” (Ephesians 1:17-18, KJV)
Relax and keep your eyes fixed upon Christ and your ears tuned to His voice and you will find what you are looking for.
