What A Man Says
As I read today’s scripture it made me think about how often we see God move in our lives and how many times we have seen Him do the miraculous and yet, denied God the glory for what has occurred. At first glance it may sound as though this is something that someone else might do, someone who doesn’t know the Lord, but the reality is that so many Christians seek the work of the Lord in their lives and when the time comes to give the credit, they are quick to thank everyone, even themselves, but leave God out of it.
I believe that what we must do is to always remember who every good thing comes from. When we face situations of difficulty and trials we must not only turn to the Lord for help, but we must remember to give the praise and the glory for work that He does. Think about this… what are people seeing when they see you go through trials? There is no other place in which people can see the true peace and joy of Christ more than when we are going through trials. We often find a deeper relationship with the Lord as we go through these times and what an awesome testimony it is when we not only rely only Him in the difficult times, but also give the praise to Him when He does the miraculous in our lives.
Imagine when you see victory in your life and instead of giving an excuse or trying to explain the events with human logic, you respond by saying, “It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth that this is possible!” What an amazing way to point to Him and to help others see the love, the power, the forgiveness, and the joy of Christ. We can actually not only do this when the miraculous things happen in our lives, but with every good thing. Did you wake up this morning? Do you have clothes to wear? Do you have food to eat? Do you have a job? It may be so easy to look at these simple things and believe that you somehow made them happen and “earned” them but the truth is, they are given to you by the Lord and He should be the one who you praise as the giver. The next time you see the Lord answer your prayers and you see the miraculous happen in your life, point it all back to Jesus!
