On July 26th 2021, a team of six people began a 12 day mission trip to Uganda. After leaving the United States, and a long layover in Amsterdam, the team arrived in Uganda and immediately went to the town of Nebbi in North-East Uganda where they would spend the duration of their time there.
On our first day of ministry, we visited a school/orphanage and conducted a variety of activities including songs, games, and Bible story telling for the children. We also toured to school facility and talked with the director and teachers. Over the next several days we spent time traveling to different villages outside of the town of Nebbi preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ to the people in those villages.
During the remainder of our time in Uganda we focused our efforts in the village of Paminya. Chris and Coria had spent time in this village in 2019 and a church had been established in this village since that visit. During these days we preached a variety of messages to the people there, conducted a women’s conference, held a children’s ministry program, and also led a Bible teaching for young adults. On the final day of ministry, we extended an invitation for salvation and baptism. Twenty-four people responded to this invitation and accepted Christ as their Lord and Savior and were baptized.
One of the most amazing testimonies of this trip however was that it happened at all. Uganda entered into a state of lockdown due to Covid on April 2020 and has had strict laws and enforcement about gatherings of more than twenty people. After our host organization sent a letter to the government of Uganda, we were given permission by the government to hold our events. At the time, these were the only events in the entire nation of Uganda to be permitted to take place. Not only did the government provide approval for the events, but they also sent a representative with the team to go wherever we went to ensure that our work was not hindered in anyway. God is truly amazing and with Him all things are possible!!
