Keepers of The Home
I have been a Christian now for over ten years. Since I have been saved I can look back on so many situations where I have gotten a lasting victory. In those moments however, it could feel as though I would never rise above them. Glory to God that through His Holy Spirit He sanctifies us and takes us from glory to glory.
It is in looking back at God’s faithfulness that I find strength for the new battles I face. If He has brought me this far, surely He will take me all the way. There have been moments in my life where I could feel the enemy’s breath on my neck as he whispered lies in my ear that crippled me. Now I am able to recognize him more quickly and begin to fight his lies with God's truth.
The devil changes his tactics and strategies often, however and can still catch me off guard. The overwhelming peace in my soul when a new trial comes my way always brings me hope and perspective. It is my cue to pick up in prayer and get my battle gear on:
"Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore, take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth and having on the breastplate of righteousness; And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace; Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;” (Ephesians 6:11-18, KJV)
Dear friend, have you experienced this same faithfulness of God? He wants to be so near to you that you would. He is a loving Father who offers good gifts to His children (Matthew 7:11). This world is a battleground.
Oftentimes when we are saved and feel that first wave of freedom and victory, the enemy chases after us wanting to place us back in the chains of bondage meaning as you find freedom and forgiveness for your past sins, the enemy comes at you with a new approach—maybe taking offense at someone in your life or being too busy, even with good things. You see the devil hates our freedom in Christ and so he is always trying to find ways to get us back into his chains of oppression. It is my prayer that God would give you spiritual eyes to see who your true enemy is and that His Holy Spirit would build in you a testimony of His great faithfulness through His son Jesus Christ.
