Proverbs 31:25-27, KJV
“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.”
When we read the word of God, we are wise to see how we measure up to the truths we find there. In the Bible we see many men and women of great character, while also learning of many others failures. I have spent my whole life watching the outcomes of other people’s decisions in an attempt to learn from their mistakes or wise choices. Proverbs 31 is no exception, it is full of all kinds of examples of what it means to be a Godly women who is a blessing to her husband, her home and her community. Do you want to be the most that you can be for the glory of God?
We are almost done with the entire chapter of 31 in Proverbs and I am certain that every single one of us have found several things that we could do better by this women’s example. Today is no different, consider these next three verse--
“Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness. She looketh well to the ways of her household, and eateth not the bread of idleness.” Proverbs 31:25-27, KJV
If strength and honor are her clothing, then we know that every single day this lady puts on these virtues. She strives for a strong physical body and does deeds that cause her to honor by many. Her mouth opens with wisdom and kindness, what a blessing she is to all who are around her! People undoubtedly seek her out for advice and encouragement. She is able to share wise advice because she is not a hypocrite and lives by it herself. It is the very reason for her own success and in her benevolence, she longs to see others walk in truth and victory also.
She looks well to the ways of her household, which means she thinks ahead of time and prepares for situations. She is able to manage her time wisely and discern whether or not what she puts her hand to will give the most gain to herself and other members of her family.
Join us next week as we finish up learning ways we can be more like this valuable women of God.
