I have known about the Lord most of my life. I can’t remember not knowing about salvation. I was about six or seven years old when I was sprinkled by a Presbyterian minister after he was satisfied with my profession of faith.
When I was about eleven or twelve years old, I made a profession of faith and repented in a Baptist church and was immersed in a creek in Kentucky. Now I was safe!! Which way was right to be baptized? I had done it both ways, so I knew I was alright!
I went to church for many years knowing that I was saved, and I also knew I needed to go to church in order to live a good and moral life. I was married at the age of sixteen to a wonderful husband who was also saved, and we had three children together.
We learned many things through the Baptist Church, but then God was ready to move us and some of our friends into the knowledge of the Holy Spirit. After reading the book The Cross and The Switchblade, we met some people who had received the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Shortly afterwards, we also received the baptism of the Holy Spirit.
God gave us many Spirit filled friends and has kept us and led us throughout the years. My husband is now with the Lord, and I know because of the hope that I have in Jesus that one day in the future I will be with him there also.
