His Testimony
In Christ I Love to give no matter what it is...
One Sunday, I made a comment to a sister from down south about how much liked her shirt. I asked where she bought it and after church she had changed into one of her husband’s old tee shirts from their truck, and she handed me the shirt and said “I want you to have it.” In the moment, I hesitated because she caught me totally off guard! But she said, “Miss Debbie don’t rob my Joy!” I just hugged her, and even though the shirt is now worn out, I can’t pitch it because it is a reminder of a heart for Jesus that I know and Love.
God blesses us in so many ways when we too have a heart like this. Five years ago when I was down south, I got a phone call from my son who was living with a Pastor from Calcutta who was going through a rough time. He had lost his home and his wife had died of cancer, both he and my son were looking for jobs. Then a snow storm hit, they lost electric, and the pipes froze and as a result, they could not even flush the toilets. Even more, their cars had broken down, and their rent and electric bills were due. Their asked me if they could borrow five hundred and twenty-six dollars to cover everything and stated that they would pay me back after they got their first paycheck. It was an expense my husband and I were not counting on. A few days later my phone rang and it was the electric company. They informed me that they would be putting new electric lines across our property on Calcutta Smithferry Road and as a result, they would be sending us a check for air space above our property that they would be using. Air Space? Who pays for air space? I asked how much the check would be and he said five hundred and twenty-six dollars!
Stuff like this just does not happen without God being involved. Yes, we got the check in the mail and God told me gave the full amount to my son and the pastor, so that they could pay all their bills. They got blessed and so did we!
In Mark 9:41, Jesus declares that anybody who gives even a cup of water in His name would be lavishly rewarded. God doesn’t promise believers a big fancy house, or an expensive car, nor the luxuries of life. But He does assure us that if we look to the needs of others first, He will make sure our needs are met in the process.
Many are hurting due to loss of work, loss of loved ones, and loneliness. I hope that you can find it in your heart to reach out to those who are in need.
Thank you Lord for all you have done and all you are going to do.
