Colossians 3:10, NIV
“And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.”

It’s always an honor to go to someone's special anniversary party...I remember many years ago when our kids surprised us with a 25th anniversary party. It was like a milestone reaching that 1/2 point to 50. In 2 years we will actually be celebrating our 50th anniversary. I think the longest married couple I knew of was married 75yrs.... now that’s a lifetime!

So why is it that as Christians who know the seriousness of marriage, it still falls apart for many?

Since the 1970s marriage and church attendance has been on the decline? The numbers show that there is a 38% chance for a non-Christian will get a divorce verses 26% for someone who is a Christian going to church.

In 2014, 50% of all marriages ended in divorce. 60% of all 2nd marriages end in divorce. And, 73% for 3rd marriages end in divorce. The United States has the highest divorce rate in the world! Bring it forward to 2020 and whether you belong to a church or not, only 1 in 3 marriages survive.

So why is this?

Is it because once we learn what God's Word says we have the knowledge, but it is not in our hearts? I love being with other couples who have also been married a long long time. In those marriages, I witness the Fruits of the Spirit, which are brought out in Galatians 5:22-26, practiced and shown in their homes. Believe me, it takes those fruits of the Spirit to make a strong and lasting marriage!

In Ephesians 5:22-25 Paul tells wives to Submit to their husband's as to the LORD. If you do not understand fully the definition of submit, please do some research today. I bring this subject before you all today, as the world in which we live needs to see the difference between ones who follow Christ and ones who do not. I believe we are in the End of Times and we all need to humble ourselves and inspect our heart condition in all aspects.  We need to ask if others see Christ through me? Do they know I worship the God of the Heavens?
