Hands of The Potter
There are times when we face discouragement in our walk with the Lord. It happens to the best of us at times. Maybe we feel that we are not fulfilling what He has for us to fulfill. Maybe we feel that we are alone in what we are facing and/or feeling. There are a couple of scriptures that come to my mind at this point.
“And let us not grow weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.” (Galatians 6:9, NKJV)
“Teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age. Amen.” (Matthew 28:20, NKJV)
To have these scriptures and these truths brings encouragement to our spirit man/woman. What really comes to my mind and heart is reflection. Looking back…Revelation 12:11 (NKJV) says, “And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” I want us to take a moment and look back on our lives. When did you know that you were saved? How have you seen God move in your life from that moment up until now? If He promises to be with us until the very end of the age, why would He leave us now?
I look back on my life and see so many times where God extended His hand of mercy and grace upon my life. There was a point in my life where I had not given my heart to the Lord Jesus Christ. I was living in the world. I was participating in my own fleshly desires. One incident in particular put me in a near death experience. I was severely dehydrated from vomiting so much. I could not even stand because I thought I would throw up more, so I just laid on the floor of my friend's apartment. Somehow my sister found me and took me to the hospital. The doctors told her if she had waited until morning, I would have been dead. I know at that moment, if God hadn’t had mercy on me, I would not have gone to heaven. Have you ever experienced a situation similar to this?
We all have a scripture that is special to us. As many people already know, mine comes from Matthew 10:29-31 (NKJV). “Are not two sparrows sold for a copper coin? And not one of them falls to the ground apart from your Father’s will. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.” God used this scripture in a special way to grab my attention and let me know that He loved me and He would take care of me.
We also have the privilege of prayer. We take our concerns to our Father, and He moves on our behalf. There have been a few people in my family, whom I love so dearly, that I have been concerned for their salvation and spiritual wellbeing. It’s been years that I have had this concern. I see the hand of God moving on behalf of my family. God is on the move! I am seeing the evidence so clearly before me and I thank God for his mercy and grace for my family! What have you been speaking to the Lord about? How has He been answering your prayers?
It can be easy to be discouraged with life, but when you look back at the faithfulness of God, let that carry you forward! Scripture tells us, “But those who wait on the LORD shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.” (Isaiah 40-31, NKJV) In this season of your life, I pray that God would stretch out His hand of mercy, grace, and love to strengthen and uphold you in your time of weakness. Please remember that when we are weak, He is strong. God bless you my brothers and sisters!
