There is no coincidence nor luck, God knows all and He cares about all. “The earth is the LORD's, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it; for he founded it on the seas and established it on the waters.” (Psalm 24:1-2, NIV) Through the faithfulness of Jesus, I learned this truth not only from His word, but also by experiencing it always in my daily life.
From yesterday morning to this morning before I sat down to write, God spoke through words and visions from others and also myself, about how the spirit of disorder has been repeatedly dragging me into a place of unrest. They have shown me how the Spirit inside me has been fighting for me, to keep me safe. Then when I sat down and look at the note I wrote weeks ago about what this message will about, I found the topic called “Order and Disorder”. By the way, when we go through this type of battle we will experience stress, and that stress has even brought about physical reaction on my body, and I have been suffering as a result.
Do I know that stress does not do any good but is actually harmful? Yes I do. Do I know that I should take it easy when things go sideways? Yes I do. But, I know I do not have stress as a result of anything wrong or anything I can see with my eyes. It is the result of the battle in the spiritual realm between the Spirit of order which inside me and the spirit of disorder which is living around me. It was not until the Holy Spirit revealed this truth that I could not know what was happening to me.
“For God is not a God of disorder but of peace--as in all the congregations of the Lord's people.” (1 Corinthians 14:33, NIV)
The advocate that Jesus sent to us, to those who believe He is the Son of God and accepted His Lordship, is living inside of us and is the Spirit of God. He has the same character and attributes of God the Father and the Son Jesus. And because God is a Spirit of order, then the Spirit inside us is a Spirit of order as well. Just like Paul wrote on Romans chapter 12, “Love in Action”. We need to seek to live at peace with everyone, be devoted to another in love, and honor one another above ourselves…“as in all the congregations of the Lord's people.” The order of the Lord, begins with love, and takes action in His truth. Submission to Him brings unity within His people. If there is any rebellion to His truth, unsubmission to His Lordship, self-seeking, lying, envy, impurity… anything against His likeness, it will bring disorder. There will be no peace in that place.
So what should we do? What is it that the Holy Spirit led me to do in this particular spiritual situation? “Rest”! “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear.” (Isaiah 59:1, NIV) Do not take on the fight with my own might or strength because the fight belongs to God and by His Spirit (Zechariah 4:6, NIV). I partner with Him in this fight through prayer, and He hears my call, and He answers.
During this time of battle, Jesus sent His faithful servants to pray over me continuously. He sent visions and words to the people He chose, and guided them pray accordingly in this situation. “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?” (Romans 8:31, NIV)
My dear friends, the battle between the Spirit of God and the spirit of darkness is just right here. Do not ever think that you can avoid it, even if your eye cannot see, it doesn’t mean it is not happening. This kind of battle can be a nationwide, or it can be in your own family or community. So, we need chose which corner we will turn to –will we allow disorder take us, or will we turn to the One of order and let Him restore it? We must pick the ground we will stand upon, the shaky sand or solid Rock.
