Barbara's Life - His Testimony
When I was very young, my parents took my siblings and I to Sunday school every weekend. When I was three years old, I earned a pin for perfect attendance to Sunday school. As I grew up, I eventually earned twelve additional pins for perfect attendance given me a total of thirteen years of perfect attendance to Sunday school. During these years I learned all about Jesus and about God’s laws, but after I had graduated from school and began working in the world, I stopped attending church and simply lived a life in the world.
When I was thirty years old, I gave birth to my daughter and became a single mother. When my daughter was three years old a neighbor eventually talked me into going back to church and taking my daughter. When we went to church I realized and knew in my heart that I was not living a life that the Lord would desire for me. I began to attend a Tuesday night Bible study and it was at study that I began to understand what a real relationship with Jesus Christ was like and what it meant to truly have Him in my heart. When I invited Him in, my life changed forever.
From that time on, I knew that He is first in my life and in my heart. He is always there for me and I can go to Him for help and guidance whenever I need it. He has taught me about love and forgiveness that He has for His people. Because He has shown this love and forgiveness to me, I am now about to share that same forgiveness and love with others.
One of the gifting that I know He has blessed me with is the gift of hospitality. I have always had a passion to serve and help other people, but once I came to know Christ and have Him in my heart I now know how to show His love to others in a greater way.
